Modern Warefare 3 breaks 5 day sales record

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has smashed the 5-day sales record for books, movies, and video games.  It has made a whopping $775 million worldwide.  That is over $100 million more then the previous record of $650 million set by Call of Duty: Black Ops last year.  The game also broke an Xbox Live record with 3.3 million gamers playing MW3 in one day.  Those are huge records and with the holiday season really kicking into gear the game should continue to break records.

New Li-ion batteries will hold 10x the charge… Android users rejoice

One of the most basic issues that has haunted the smartphone era is battery life.  It is great that our phones are now super powered with giant displays and dual-core processor, but in most cases the battery simply can not keep up with the device.  It is all to common for someone to have to charger their phone before it can even make it 24 hours.  Thankfully for us Engineers from Northwestern’s McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science have found a solution. BlackBerry London photo leaked

RIM has a new smartphone coming out and it looks awesome to say the least.  BlackBerry has never been known for having the most stylish or cutting edge devices.  They seem to be trying to change that with the London.  From the looks of things the new device could be made of aluminum but most likely it is just plastic.  The London will be the first BlackBerry to have no face buttons.  It will also be the first Blackberry to run the BBX operating system, which is based on the OS the Playbook uses.  It reportedly will have some very un-BlackBerry like specs.  It features a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB of on-board storage, front and rear facing cameras.  It is also supposed to be thinner then the iPhone 4.  Look for the London in Q3 2012.  We will have more details for you as they become available.

Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace set to be re-released in 3D

Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace is being re-released to theaters in 3D.  I am not really sure if this is a good or bad news.  The movie obviously wasn’t shot in 3D, and with the recent crappy 3D conversion quality of movies like “Clash of the Titans” I can’t say that I have a ton of faith that this will look any better.  We will just have to wait and see.  Look for it Feb. 10th 2012.  Read on the see the trailer. Corsair Hydro H50 CPU Cooler review

Water cooling is a great way to  controll the temperature of your PC components.  We feel it is the best way.  Fans can do a nice job of cooling your rig but they tend to be bulky, loud, and can’t reach the low temps water cooling can.  The reason people have stuck with fans for so long is their ease of use, and low cost.  That’s where Corsair steps in with their line of self contained liquid CPU coolers. Bionic Bopper Cars… if you don’t want these, you don’t have a pulse

Most of us either had, or played with “Rock em Sock em Robots” as a kid, or in my case yesterday.  Hammacher and Schlemmer have taken it to the next level with their Bionic Bopper Cars.  They have combined bumper cars with Rock em Sock em, and the result is what you see above.  You sit inside the robots and control them with two joysticks.  There is a display that keeps track of the score.  The bots are made of steel, run on gas (5 hours), weigh 850lbs, and go up to 3mph.  The only thing that sucks about these guys is the price tag.  At $17,000 they are the opposite of cheap.  Follow the link for the product page.
